In keeping with tradition we got another real Christmas Tree this year. We were up at Neutral Bay Primary School at sparrows to get the pick of the crop. It was always going to be a bit of a science experiement with Flynn as to how he'd react with it. Luckily he's been really good but seems to say 'no touching' every time he sees a Christmas Tree.
We also went up to Artarmon to get a family photo. One of the few places in Sydney where you can take your mutt. Ironically the camera was broken but we snagged an iPhone photo.
Merry Christmas everyone.

Ho Ho Ho
Well it's that time of year and Tracy and I headed down to May Lane in St Peter's to get a couple of snaps with Flynn for our Christmas postcard. You know I'm partial to a bit of graffiti so what better a spot to combine with a bit of santa suit action. Was a bit of a tough shoot as it was really hot and humid when we got there and was hard to get Flynn to smile or strike a pose. We still had lots of fun anyway.
ANyway wishing my massive subscriber base a really happy and safe Christmas and hopefully next year I'll step up on the pretty average number of blog posts this year.

Almost Ash's NYC - Momofuku Seiobo
I thought my loyal blog fan base may be getting a bit bored of blogs on Flynn and Dasha so I decided to go old school and try and get some food envy happening. It's Tracy's birthday weekend, week, month and year and she likes to highlight so we kitted up and hit the town for a decent meal. It wasnt quite cocktail hour as it was lunch after all but nevertheless it was good to get out. Di headed over to babysit and we got the light rail into the Casino.
The last time I went to Star was in about 2008 and it was a factor 10 dump. They've since renovated it and we had the pleasure of hitting up Momofuku Seiobo. We'd had some excellent experiences back at this brands motherships in NYC. The pork buns at Ssam, dried and shaved foie gras at Ko and noodles at Noodle Bar so we were eagerly awaiting eating here. Oh and the fact it's been awhile since we've eaten somewhere decent.
It's a similar style to Ko with a dining room wrapped around the kitchen although it is much bigger. It was a pretty nice space although I wouldn't want to sit at one of the tables on the floor. Part of the experience is watching the chef's in synchronized magic preparing the feast ahead.
The starters were small but they kept coming. My fav was the abalone with sunflower and artichoke while Tracy really loved duck broth with a wonton thing in it. After several courses of desserts we were done with this ten course monster.
The verdict, we loved it. I don't think there was a dish in the that was an OMG stand out but it was all really delicious and a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Happy birthday Space.

Flynn Olympics
Flynn's walking has taken off this week. He's now running around everywhere like a crazy cat. He took to the toilet paper as a bit of a walker and the seed was laid for this video.
I couldn't find a Frankenstein noise so had to stick to a weird alien growl. You'll see.

Did Someone forget winter?
So here we are almost in July and the weather is still cracking. Ok it ended up a little windy late in the afternoon but what a pearler of a day.
Tracy, Flynn and I decided to head down to Bondi for a bit of a walk. After a Ben and Jerry's distraction we made it as far as Bondi Ice Bergs before chilling out and then heading home. Nothing like a winter walk down at the beach.

1 Year On
We cannot believe it's been a year since Flynnty Minty entered the Sydney hood. Every day he becomes a bit more of a dude and we love him just that bit more.
Happy birthday Lil' Man.

Ahhh Dasha
So it's been awhile since I've put a post up for the little fella so thought I better stop neglecting him and get him back on the blog. Dasha is a sucker for a bit of warmth. In fact he's the most miserable dog ever when he is cold. Maybe it stems from when he was a pup and we were trying to toilet training him in the snow on the cold streets of NYC.
We caught him on camera up in Maine in 2011 when we were on a road trip staying at this dog friendly place. Nothing like sitting by the fire with a nice cocktail with you dog snoozing on the ground.
We're fortunate enough to have a gas fireplace in our new place and Dash is loving it. About the only thing that can move him from this spot is getting him some ham out of the fridge. Good on him. No better place to be than on a cold and chilly night.
