Linsanity

Those more sporting inclined may have heard the latest buzz in NYC is a guy called Jeremy Lin. He breaks the more typical profile of a basketball player (Asian, from Harvard) and has captured the public's imagination. He was picked up by the Knicks for a steal and spent much of the start of the season on the bench. He finally got his opportunity to get out on the court a couple of weeks ago and has been smashing it. It's done wonders for the Knicks. Ticket prices have gone through the roof. Even shares in the company which owns the building have gone up.

Anyway last night I was fortunate to get an invite to a box at the Garden. I've been there many times before but never like this. It was amazing to see how the other half experience a game. You get whisked in a side entrance and get up to your level via elevator. A lot different to the multiple escalators I normally get up to the nose bleed section.

The box itself is truly amazing. Private bathroom, unlimited beer and wine, standing room and really spacious and comfortable seats which make you feel like you're hanging over the court. Even a butler type guy to make sure everything is topped up. Tracy would have been in heaven. There was a massive bowl of chicken tenders and a plate full of every type of cookie and brownie you could imagine. Delicious.

The game itself was against the Pacers. It was pretty much a walkover and the Knicks smashed it.

Sorry family, it's back to the nose bleeds when we go to the game in a couple of weeks.
