Our epic journey began at a touch after 11am. We were quite lucky as they cut the end of the line off about 20 metres behind us.The line snaked its way half way around Bondi. The local kids were doing a roaring trade in whatever they could pilfer from their parents kitchens.
We were completely under prepared. A lack of cash, sunscreen, anything to eat or drink made it a challenging wait. Tracy ended up being a celeb having a bit of a talk to Phil as he worked the crowd in the line.
After a solid 4.5 hour wait we finally made it to the houses. It was a bit of a spoiler seeing the finished rooms but still enjoyable. The standard response we got from agents was they were expecting in the vicinity of 1.4 million. I'm thinking they come in higher around the 1.8ish. The tradies house was a real winner. Very Alice in Wonderland but quite interesting. Dani and Dan's back space, while a tad boring seemed to have the best aspect and I think this will do then well on auction day. Phil and Amity managed to cram in a loft area and along with 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms looks pretty solid on paper. Josh and Jenna had an interesting use of marble throughout and an impressive indoor vertical garden.
The contestants and other characters on the show were all very friendly and it was amazing how popular the show is with young kids. Maybe their breeding a future generation of mini renovators?
It was a tough day on the legs but worth it to have a bit of a sneak peek. I shouldn't complain though. I'd hate to have been one of the real estate lovelies, with six foot legs, that had to stand around all day in high heels. Now that would have been tough.
