Today we cruised down south to grab a bite to eat at the Scarborough Hotel and follow up with some wild life action at Symbio. The pub itself had great views and the outside gardens were dog friendly which was really cool. We'll bring Dasha back once his foot has healed. Symbio looks like it has seen better days but it was still fun to get up and close to the wildlife with Flynn.

Happy Flynn - Christmas 2013
Luckily most days are more smiles than tears for Master Flynn. Well the exception is his little witching hour between 5 and 7 but that's nothing a bath and the boob cannot fix. I've put a couple of photos of the happy bub from the summer holidays so far....
Ok I never wanted to be one of those parents that dress their kids in the same duds as themselves but when I saw these boardies and t-shirt on a recent trip to Manly I could help myself.

Agnus Water Part II
We finally made the trip up to Agnus Water to join my family on a pre Christmas holiday. For my substantial blog reader base who has no idea where Agnus Water is well it's north of Bundaberg and south of Gladstone. It's know as the last surf beach on the east coast before the Great Barrier Reef starts.
My brother-in-law, David, had arranged some class accommodation at a beachside pad and after an uneventful ride up on one of those little prop planes we were ready to rock.
His royal highness, Flynn absolutely loved the beach and also all the attention from Aunty T and Grandma. He really enjoyed kicking the sand and learn't pretty quickly sand is not that tasty.
The days went something like this:
5-5.30am: Wake the house up by banging on doors.
5.30am: Hand Flynn over to Grandma or Aunty T to deal with, go for swim or surf.
7.30am: Harass Grey Grey for breakfast
7.35am: Coffee run
8am: swim in pool
8.30am: Listen to Aunty T's plans for the day and then revert back to the beach
1pm: Meat pie (or crocodile pie) for lunch
2pm: rest, beach optional
3.30pm: swim in pool again, surf for some
5pm: Check to see if Flynn is ok if you could get him back from Aunty T and Grandma
5.30pm: Chardy hour on the deck
6.30pm: start dinner
8.15pm: bed then snoring time.
Highlights included some cold bevvies at the 1770 pub, stand up paddle boarding and just generally chillen and doing nothing.
The surf was pumping on the Thursday and gradually got smaller but was generally pretty good. Agnus Water is a mixture of a beach break with a right hand point break. My first surf mad me realise how unfit I am and it was a shame as the waves were really good. Jonty was tearing it up and had really improved since I last saw him. Definitely something I need to get back into (may I get a board boss? pleaseeeee)
A tremendous holiday and I think we're all feeling thoroughly relaxed now.

Christmas 2013
Both Tracy and I were thoroughly excited to have our first Christmas with Flynn. Keeping traditions up in our ever shrinking home we went and got a nice real Christmas tree from the local Scout group. We learnt this year to get in early as the trees are a red hot sell out. We ended up getting what we both thought was a lovely tree.
It was a double special year as my family were up from Geelong to celebrate Christmas in Sydney. Sadly the weather didn't come to the party but we had fun none-the-less.
In preparation for years to come the little fella was up at the crack of dawn. Probably more a result of 1770 jet lag and probably why at 8pm at night Tracy and I are both knackered. We had a blast opening presents with him and laughed at his interest in the paper wrapping rather than the actual presents.
Flynn as really spoiled and got lots of really nice presents from Santa, friends and family. We managed to have a nice breakfast at home before the rain set in and then ventured out to Manly for a late lunch at the Bavarian Bier Cafe on the pier. Good call on eating out and I think everyone had lots of fun. Stay tuned for some 1770 action in the next blog.

JBJ in Sydney
Last night Tracy and I got a leave pass and headed to Olympic Park with Tracy's brother and sister-in-law to see Bon Jovi. I think my ears are still ringing. The stage for the concert was one of the most impressive I've ever seen. Shaped like a huge car it was very cool. All the classics were played and was a really fun night. He always puts on a great show. Interestingly Richie Sambora was not there. I didn't even really they had had a barney.
It got me thinking that I've been to a few Bon Jovi gigs and I trawled through the photo archives to bring back memories. Here's a collection of historical Bonners Gig photos. So many good memories.
Milton Keynes, UK, June 2006
Perth, Australia, January 2008
New Giants Stadium, New Jersey, USA, May 2010
Madison Square Garden, New York, USA, February 2011
Asbury Park (Bambozzle Festival), New Jersey, USA, May 2012
