Last month Tracy and I bagged up Dasha and got on the Metro North train and headed to a town called Cold Spring. Cold Spring is located on the Hudson River about 1.5 hours north of New York City. Quietly I'd heard it was packed with Antique and junk shops but I described this to Tracy as a 'quaint little village.'

It ended up being a classic summer Saturday afternoon and it was fantastic to get out of the city for once. The town itself is pretty small with one main street. There were heaps of very American looking houses around. What makes an American looking house? Well have a squiz at the pictures. We explored a little and then went and ate lunch at a cafe.
I think the highlight of the day was when we found this fairly empty park down by the river. For the first time ever we took Dasha off the leash and let him roam free. It was very exciting although i was quite nervous. It ended up being fine but I think the bag of treats I had nearby certainly helped out. All in all a lovely part of the world.
And Finally here is a video of the first time we let Dasha off the leash.
Loved seeing Dasha off the leash. Great house photos also.
