Many of the neighbourhoods around Manhattan host these things called block parties on a semi regular basis during summer. It's a community thing where they close off the street, crank up a grill and generally encourage everyone to have a good time. Last weekend there was one around the corner on Jane Street. We're in the midst of an exceptionally good fall and it really has pumped the spirit up around the place. I suppose the copious amounts of ale on tap also helped but all in all things were pumping in the afternoon. Here are a couple of snaps and a video of the activities.
