The lovely morning light meant that princess was up and at them at 6am in the morning. Do they make those nice night sleeping eye covers for dogs? If so I need one for Dasha badly. Anyway we headed down to the dog run again. It was a little rainy this morning but he did not seem to mind. Upon returning home the food onslaught began.
We headed to a place on Ave A called Beagle for brunch. It was a typical looking cool New York place with a pretty simple menu. I ended up having a lamb hash and it was really good. After brunch we wandered around aimlessly for awhile and then Matt came down to hang out. The East Village was pumping today as there was a massive festival in Tompkins Square Park and there were people everywhere. There was this thing on called Art Around the Park where anyone could come up and paint on temporary canvases around the edge of the park. More on that later.
At this point Tracy split to go to the dog run and Matt and I headed to Yuca Bar for a late afternoon lunch. We both had these sensational crab cakes with poached eggs and sangria to wash it down. Cannot say I ever had something like this before but I'll defiantly be back.
There was a bit more aimless wandering and then we headed back to the pad for a few late arvo beverages. We ended up heading downstairs to this Singaporean place called Masak. After a rather strong cocktail we shared a delicious crab chili dish. It was then onto main and I think what took me over the edge today. The Rendang Burger. It's not often I cannot smash a burger but this bad boy got the better of me.
Did someone say diet?
