Greenpoint, Brooklyn

On Sunday I went for a bit of a wander in Brooklyn to take a few snaps of some of the street art. I was planning to wander around Williamsburg but ended up exploring Greenpoint which is a little further north. It was a beautiful day and great to get out to a new area. It did not disappoint. I actually wish I had a bike as the area is huge and I could have covered more ground but walking was fine.

The main road in Greenpoint is called Franklin Street although there is one street closer to the river called Commercial Street. I'm not sure if I;d be walking in this area at night. It's full of abandoned warehouses and is a touch dodgy but it's fine during the day and there was some really interesting stuff around there.

I ended my wander the the Brooklyn Flea Market where I got some more useless vintage advertising stuff and one sensational beef brisket roll.

Camouflaged truck

A very random piece in the middle of nowhere in Greenpoint.

The artists were having an eviction sale in a loft space they were renting so I went and had a bit of a squiz.  Very hippy.

  2. It is exciting discovering new areas. The students always love your graffiti shots also.
