It's a pretty cool space serving up modern American food. It took them ages to seat us but it ended up being worth the wait. Tracy had ox tail ravioli and I had scallops for a starter. Both were equally delicious. Mains were roast duck for Tracy and lamb loin for me. Washed down with a couple of cocktails and we were set for a delicious meal.
Afterwards we decided to walk home via the Williamsburg Bridge. Neither of us had walked over this and it's not that far from our place. It was an interesting experience and probably the first time in NYC I felt a little funny being out at night. I'm sure it was fine but the walk way is long, dark, covered in graffiti and enclosed. It didn't help that another person said there was a druggie causing trouble on the bridge. We made it back to the Lower Eastside without any hassles. It was really quite interesting as you could look down on top of the rooftops of the apartments on the Brooklyn side and all these people were out soaking up the weather drinking ales and having fun.
The amount of graffiti on the bridge was out of control. Clearly no CCTV and not a lot of police presence. Amazing that it could get this out of hand. The most interesting aspect was most of the pedestrian signs on the path had been modified in some way or another with interesting results. See the pic's below.

I'm amazed at how the graffiti got so out of hand on the bridge. This is a photo of the bridge opening plaque. Crazy. |
Seems like you will get that 5 in 3 happening in a week!!!
