It's a very New York experience eating at this place. Although it's not super fine dining and the music they play is pretty rock and roll, you still get the feeling that it's popular among Manhattan's hoity toity set. The place was buzzing and pretty chaotic when we got there. Limo's and town cars parked out the front kinda set the scene.
So was it worth it? The food was really good but the cheque was pretty crazy. The Octopus starter was beyond good. I've never tasted such tender meat. It melted in your mouth. Sadly our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and we had leftovers. I asked them to box it up and was really looking forward to a toasted Squab sandwich for breakfast but stupidly we forgot to collect it on the way out. Even had some prime beef rib for Dasha. Spewing.
For some reason this place was on my NY bucket list and I'm glad to have eaten there finally. Now only two bucket list places to go, Vinegar Hill House and Jeffrey's Grocery. Why these? No idea but they are.

What I accidentally left behind. The corn underneath was really good. |
