Cayo Levisa

The heat from Havana had really gotten to us and we needed some serious beach time again so we headed to an offshore island called Cayo Levisa. It was about an hours drive and 30 min ferry from Vinales but well worth the trip. Apart from a small hotel it was pretty isolated and there were only about 20 other people on the beach.

While it was not quite Eagle Beach in Aruba, it was still very pretty and the water was sensationally warm and turquoise again. These Caribbean islands are really spoiling us at the moment.

It was a lazy day at the beach sleeping under the coconut trees and spending some time snorkeling trying to help a guy find his wedding band which came off in the water.

Another day in paradise.

Our taxi driver, Lewis, let me drive a bit of the way when we were coming home. It was in a 59 Chevy although it had a Mitsubishi motor and Hyundai steering wheel and who knows what other parts. The sad part was when I was trying to find second gear and two kids on a push bike over took me.
