Havana Part II

We have continued to survive the heat in Havana. We both got a giggle from the Lonely Planet guide which said October is the best time to visit when the place is a bit cooler. I'd hate to see it in summer.

Our other days in Havana were spent aimlessly wandering around the old town. We did head out to the Museum of the Revolution. This was housed in the pre revolution presidential palace which would have been beautiful in its hey day but is a bit run down now. I really don't have much of an appreciation of Cuban history but am super keen to check this out more once we can get some Internet.

We went to the Buena Vista Social Club for some live Cuban music and pretty average tasting mojitos. It was good fun although had a bit of a touristy feel about it.

We went for another big walk along the Mallecon and ended up at the Hotel Nationalle for some of their famous mojitos.........and maybe a Cuban cigar as well. We ended up catching a old school convertible taxi back to the hotel. It reminded us of our last night in New York.

We've had a great time in Havana. The city is amazing, food good, people are friendly and the Bucuneros go down a treat in the afternoon. Next stop is Vinalles which is about 200 Km's to the west of Havana.

I cannot get enough of the old cars in Havana. They are very cool.
